About Axiom Admissions
Axiom Admissions was founded by two San Diego-based valedictorians, Ian de la Houssaye and Janette Aziz. After successfully navigating the admissions process to top-tier institutions, we saw firsthand that many high-achieving students fall short of achieving their goals of elite college admissions, not due to a lack of ability, but because they lack a competitive strategy.
Axiom Admissions was built to change that. We provide students with the high-level guidance, positioning, and insight that lead to top university acceptances, delivered through personalized, one-on-one mentorship. Our mission is simple: transform high-potential students into highly competitive applicants for the world’s most selective universities.
Why We’re Different
- We navigated this exact process in 2026 — not 20 years ago: We possess a modern understanding of the evolving landscape that traditional counselors, years removed from the process, often overlook.
- Deep Understanding of the Process: We understand today’s unique prompts and institutional expectations because we have navigated them successfully in real-time, securing places at top institutions like MIT.
- Relatable Mentorship: Our proximity to the process allows us to bridge the gap between student ambition and what top schools look for with unmatched relevance and personalized support.
- Our Size: We make sure we don't take on more clients than we can handle, ensuring that every last student gets quality one-on-one time and highly-personalized counseling.
Meet the Founders
Ian de la Houssaye
Ian de la Houssaye is an incoming freshman at UC Berkeley and a former senior at Point Loma High School in San Diego, California. A natural-born leader and entrepreneur, he founded his school’s FTC robotics team and scaled it up, eventually making it into one of the top-ranking teams in San Diego. Additionally, he serves as an educator and peer mentor in his community, making time to tutor over 20 high schoolers in a wide variety of subjects, from biology to calculus to SAT preparation. He takes pride in knowing that he has helped improve grades for so many people, and he hopes to both continue and expand this impact with Axiom Admissions.
Janette Aziz
Janette Aziz is an incoming freshmen at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and was also a senior at Point Loma High School. Now that she’s figured it out, she refuses to let others stay in the dark and actively devotes time to uplifting her peers, helping them get into their dream schools.
